Conversion of completed card transactions abroad (purchases, payments, cash withdrawals), excluding Russia:
If a card transaction is made abroad in a currency other than USD, EUR, or GBP, the amount of the card transaction is converted by international payment systems, such as Visa and MasterCard (the "IPS") into USD at the exchange rate established by the respective IPS on the date of the card transaction. Subsequently, upon receipt of the payment document for the card transaction, if the card account is denominated in KZT, the Bank converts the aforementioned amount into USD at the current exchange rate for cash purchases/sales of foreign currency established by the Bank at the time of receipt of the payment document.
If a card transaction is made abroad in a currency other than USD, EUR, or GBP, the amount of the card transaction is converted by international payment systems, such as Visa and MasterCard (the "IPS") into USD at the exchange rate established by the respective IPS on the date of the card transaction. 3) The Bank converts USD to KZT at the current cashless USD selling rate and blocks the transaction amount on the customer’s card;
4) The Payment System sends the Bank a payment document for settlement upon the actual completion of the card transaction;
5) The Bank debits the transaction amount from the KZT card at the current cashless USD selling rate at the time of debiting. Please note that the blocked amount and the amount debited from the account may differ if the payment document from the IPS arrives later than the date of the amount request and changes in the exchange rate at the Bank.

Therefore, debiting funds to pay for purchases from KZT cards is performed taking into account conversion at the current cash sale exchange rate.
If a customer makes a payment on a foreign website (excluding the Russian Federation), and the purchase amount is indicated in RUB. When making a payment to the Bank, the payment documents for debiting in USD are received from the IPS (see the more detailed conversion procedure above). Therefore, debiting funds to pay for purchases from KZT or RUB cards is performed taking into account conversion at the current cash sale exchange rate of USD.

If a customer makes a payment on a foreign website (excluding the Russian Federation), and the purchase amount is indicated in RUB. When making a payment to the Bank, the payment documents for debiting in USD are received from the IPS (see the more detailed conversion procedure above). Therefore, debiting funds to pay for purchases from KZT or RUB cards is performed taking into account conversion at the current cash sale exchange rate of USD.

If a customer makes a payment/cash withdrawal in RUB on the territory of the Russian Federation, while the customer’s card is in KZT:
1) The IPS (available only for Union Pay) will convert the amount from RUB to USD at its internal exchange rate,
2) The IPS sends a request to the Bank in the form of a converted amount in USD,
3) The Bank converts USD to KZT at the current cashless USD selling rate and blocks the transaction amount on the customer’s card,
4) The IPS sends a payment document to the Bank for settlement upon completion of the card transaction,
5) The Bank debits the transaction amount from the KZT card at the current cashless USD selling rate at the time of debiting. Please note that the blocked amount and the amount of money debited from the account may differ if the payment document from the IPS arrives later than the date of the amount request and changes in the exchange rate at the Bank.

Yes, a fee may apply as the transaction is processed with the DCC service (Dynamic Currency Conversion). The purpose of this service is to allow the customer, at their discretion, to make a payment/withdraw funds in the currency of the Bank issuer's country – KZT. In this case, an additional conversion occurs, and the acquiring bank charges the fee.
No, in this case, no additional fees are charged. Standard currency conversion fees apply when the currency of the card account does not match the transaction currency, as well as fees for cash withdrawals abroad, according to the Bank’s exchange rate and tariffs. For single-currency cards, funds will be debited at the exchange rate applied at the time the financial document confirming the transaction is received from the acquiring bank. For multi-currency cards, the exchange rate at the time of funds transfer between accounts on the card is applied.
