Each deposit is guaranteed by KDIF.
Since 1999, a special fund, Kazakhstan Deposit Insurance Fund (KDIF) JSC, was operating in Kazakhstan, the purpose of which is to guarantee the deposits of individuals.
All deposits of individuals in Halyk Bank JSC are subject to compulsory guarantee. The state guarantee for all deposits and bank accounts per depositor is:
• up to KZT 20 million – for savings deposits in the national currency
• up to KZT 10 million – for cards, accounts and other types of deposits in the national currency
• up to KZT 5 million – for cards, accounts and deposits in foreign currency

If a depositor has two or more deposits simultaneously in both KZT and foreign currency, the guaranteed compensation is KZT 20 million.
