To receive dividends, you shall be registered on the shareholder register as of the record date. Considering the T+2 settlement scheme, it is recommended to purchase shares at least three to four days before the record date, as the transfer of ownership occurs on the settlement date.
Based on the financial year results, the depository may decide to distribute the profits of the issuing company among shareholders, i.e., pay dividends. This meeting also determines the dividend amount, record date, and actual payment date. Dividends are credited to the customer’s investment account. If a decision is made to allocate the received profit to the company’s development or debt repayment, no dividend is paid. The frequency of dividend payments depends on the company’s dividend policy. For Kazakh issuers, the common practice is to pay dividends once a year. Foreign issuers may pay dividends quarterly or semi-annually, etc.
Dividends are credited to the customer’s investment account.
