Halyk Bank wins the “Best Internal Audit Function 2025” award
Halyk Bank was recognized as the winner in the “Best Internal Audit Function 2025” category at the annual forum of chapter members of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
The forum-meeting of the chapter members of the Institute of Internal Auditors is one of the key professional industry events, bringing together leading experts in internal audit, risk management and corporate governance from Astana, Almaty, Tashkent and other cities. During the event, participants discussed current trends and challenges in the profession as well as presented awards for best practices and achievements in the area of internal audit. The “Best Internal Audit Function 2025” was awarded for the first time, which became one of the key highlights of the forum agenda. Following a unanimous vote by the Institute of Internal Auditors Board of Directors, Halyk Bank was recognized as the winner and won the status of the “Best Internal Audit Function 2025”.
This recognition confirmed the high level of professionalism of the team, maturity of the Bank’s internal audit system and its compliance with the best international practices. The Institute of Internal Auditors specifically noted the contribution of employees of Halyk Bank’s Internal Audit Department to the development of the professional community in Kazakhstan. On a voluntary basis, Bank employees participated in translation of the updated International Standards for Professional Practice of Internal Auditing into the Kazakh language. Baurzhan Kadyrbekov, Head of the Branch Audit Division and Gulmira Badasheva, CIA, Audit Lead of the Branch Audit Division contributed a lot to this work.
“This achievement is the result of cohesive teamwork, high professionalism of employees of Halyk Bank’s Internal Audit Department and their commitment to the principles of quality, independence and continuous improvement. Winning at this level is an important recognition of our Bank’s contribution to the development of internal audit in the Republic of Kazakhstan,” noted Oscar Diyarov, Chief Audit Executive.
The Institute of Internal Auditors was founded in the USA in 1941 and today unites over 200,000 specialists from over 170 countries worldwide. In the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Institute’s chapter has been operating since 2018.
