A new building for the oblast branch of Halyk Bank has opened in Atyrau
Halyk Bank's new oblast branch building was officially opened on 15 December. The ceremony was attended by Umut Shayakhmetova, CEO of Halyk Bank, and Serik Shapkenov, Akim of Atyrau Oblast.
The new office is located in the business district of the city. The construction of Halyk branch building, with a total area of over 9,000 m², has become one of the bank's largest projects in the region. Work began in 2024, with investments of more than KZT 10 billion. The new bank office is designed to serve more than 5,000 customers per month and is equipped with advanced technological solutions that ensure high standards of quality, safety, and comfort.
The opening of the new branch building is an important step in implementing the bank's strategy to strengthen regional infrastructure and create modern conditions for the development of Kazakhstan's economy. The Atyrau region has traditionally been one of the key regions for Halyk: the loan portfolio of corporate customers registered in the oblast reached KZT 428 billion as of 1 October 2025, and the share of SMB lending is 65%. These figures demonstrate the bank's significant contribution to supporting business and developing the regional economy.
Halyk is the country's No.1 bank, with assets exceeding KZT 20.4 trillion. Halyk has the highest ratings among commercial banks without foreign participation and was recognized as the best bank in Kazakhstan in 2025 by the international publication The Banker. The Bank is the leader in lending to the real sector of the economy with a share of over 52%.
Halyk invests not only in the economy, but also in the social development of regions. From 2020 to 2025, Halyk Group allocated KZT 143.8 billion to social programs, implementing projects in the fields of education, ecology, culture, healthcare, and sports.
