Halyk Became the General Partner of the 5th World Nomad Games

Today, an agreement on cooperation between the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the 5th World Nomad Games and Halyk Bank was signed at the Government House of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The cooperation agreement was signed by Roman Sklyar, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the 5th World Nomad Games, and Umut Shayakhmetova, CEO of Halyk Bank. Serik Zharasbayev, Vice-Minister of Tourism and Sports, and Nail Nurov, Head of the Directorate for the preparation and organization of the 5th World Nomad Games, also attended the signing ceremony.

This agreement not only emphasizes the status of the upcoming event, but also strengthens the partnership between the government and business. As a general partner, Halyk will provide substantial support in organizing and hosting the Games to be held from 8 to 13 September 2024 in Astana.

During his speech, Roman Sklyar highlighted that Kazakhstan has historically been the guardian of the original nomadic culture: “The Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, referred to the heritage of nomadic civilization as one of the main brands of our nation. This is what we should demonstrate to the whole world during the Astana Games”.

According to Roman Sklyar, it is absolutely fair that Halyk Bank, the leader of Kazakhstan’s financial industry, became the general partner of the 5th World Nomad Games. The Bank is not only a provider of financial services, but also actively supports social projects throughout the country.

For her part, Umut Shayakhmetova, CEO of Halyk Bank, noted that supporting such an important country project is both a great honor and a great responsibility for the bank. “We fully understand that holding the 5th World Nomad Games is an important step in shaping the image of our homeland in the eyes of the world community. It is an international project designed to demonstrate the importance of preserving our common heritage, our common cultural code, and it is a project that involves more than a hundred countries. As a bank, we always support what is aimed at the development of the country and the benefit of the people of Kazakhstan”.

As a reminder, from 8 to 13 September, Astana will host a large-scale sporting event – the 5th World Nomad Games to bring together more than 2,000 participants from 85 countries of the world. Competitions will be held in 21 kinds of sports.
