Halyk Bank and Halyk Charity Foundation employees to donate one-day salary to flood victims

The Bank has decided to more than double the amount of the aid collected.

Employees of the country’s largest bank and Halyk Charity Foundation came forward with an initiative to donate their one-day salary to help Kazakhstani people, who have been affected by severe floods.

Nearly KZT 200 million in total was collected from employees. The management of the Bank has decided to more than double the amount donated raising it to KZT 450 million.

Earlier, Halyk Bank and Halyk Charity Foundation transferred KZT 1 billion of their own funds to help the inhabitants of the flood-affected regions. Thus, total amount donated by Halyk Bank and Halyk Foundation came to KZT 1.45 billion.

Halyk is always one of the first to help its fellow citizens in need as part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility.

The Bank hopes the funds raised would help those who had lost their homes and possessions to get through a difficult time.

“Every member of Halyk Bank and Halyk Charity Foundation staff felt it was his/her duty to take part in helping the victims. Moreover, many of our colleagues live and work in the regions where the state of emergency has been declared. None of our employees could stand aside. Our hearts go out to all those affected by the devastating floods – the worst natural disaster in our country's recent history. Joining forces to help those who need our support is more important than ever. Only by working together will we be able to overcome this most difficult period and begin to overcome the consequences of the disaster. We are with you, our fellow citizens”, the bank said in a statement.
