Halyk Group to send 1 billion KZT to help flood-affected Kazakhstanis

Halyk Bank and Halyk Charity Foundation made a joint decision to send 1 billion KZT from their funds to help flood victims of Kazakhstan.

The top management of Halyk Group and Halyk Charity Foundation, established by Timur and Dinara Kulibayev, expressed hope that this step together with measures of support from the state and the participation of all concerned citizens and business representatives will help people recover from natural disasters as quickly as possible.

«Мы искренне сопереживаем нашим согражданам, оказавшимся заложниками стихии, потерявшим свои дома и имущество. Невозможно остаться в стороне от такой трагедии и протягивая руку помощи, мы от всей души надеемся, что этот трудный период в жизни страны будет завершен как можно скорее, и подобное в дальнейшем не повторится», - said in a joint communication between the bank and the fund.

Massive high waters flooded the homes of the inhabitants in Aktobe, Kostanay, West Kazakhstan, Akmola, Atyrau, Karaganda, North Kazakhstan, Turkestan, Almaty, Pavlodar, Ulytau and Abay regions. To date, more than 12,000 people have been evacuated and housed in temporary accommodation.
