Halyk Bank HR Achievements: Half-Year Results
Over the past six months, Halyk has received recognition from three major organizations – national, regional, and international.
Top Employer Kazakhstan 2026 – for the second year in a row
Halyk has confirmed its status as Top Employer Kazakhstan from the international organization Top Employers Institute, and remains the only Kazakhstani brand on this list.
Top Employers Institute certification is an international audit of HR system maturity based on an objective assessment of HR practices. Publications on the methodology note the analysis of more than 350 HR practices and over 600 metrics, and a mandatory threshold of at least 60% for each section. The assessment is conducted as part of the international HR Best Practices Survey, covering 6 HR domains and 20 topics: from people strategy and the work environment to training, D&I, and wellbeing. The Bank’s result following the audit was higher than the international benchmark.
“HR Brand Central Asia” Award: Gold and Silver
At the annual hh ceremony in Almaty, Halyk became the only company from Kazakhstan to win two awards. The award has been held for 13 years and remains the major HR event in the CIS.
Gold in the “World” category – Project: “Skill-Based Culture and Competency Development Using AI”
The Bank created its own AI/ML system that objectively measures the competencies of employees and candidates and suggests a personalized development trajectory. Instead of “gut-feeling” interviews, there is a single transparent methodology that works equally for the current team and new candidates.
This is the foundation of a skill-based culture, where career growth and hiring decisions are made based on data. More than 90% of IT, Digital, and Data specialists have already undergone assessment under the new system. The next step is personalized learning trajectories.
Silver in the “Country” category – Project: “Predictive Burnout Model”
Halyk developed an ML model that calculates the probability of a specific employee being in a risk zone based on more than 120 parameters and provides an early warning signal. This is a transition from reactive to proactive management: preventing the fire rather than putting it out.
Paryz Bridge: top 3 countries and No.1 in the financial sector
Based on the results of the first national employer brand study, Halyk ranked among the top 3 employers in Kazakhstan according to the Employee Perception Index (EPI) and took first place among financial companies.
The distinctive feature of Paryz Bridge is its methodology: the result depends neither on expert voting nor on applications from the companies themselves. The final score is based on four independent sources:
- Employee opinion;
- Maturity of HR practices and processes;
- Objective HR metrics of the company;
- Employer perception in the labor market.
The study was initiated by PARYZ National Confederation of Employers and the Association of HR Managers of Kazakhstan, combining data from over 150,000 employees from more than 100 companies. The EPI reflects the level of trust, fairness, opportunities for growth, and the quality of the work environment.
What lies behind these achievements
Behind these achievements are not standalone HR projects, rather systemic work to develop culture, leadership, and modern HR practices. Halyk consistently invests in employee development, HR digitalization, the implementation of AI solutions, data analytics, and the creation of a unified employee experience at all stages of their career path.
These awards confirm that the selected approach is delivering results. For us, this is not only recognition from the professional community, but also an indicator of employee trust, the quality of management decisions, and the efficiency of the HR system that Halyk has been consistently developing for several years.
