Aktau, 5 October 2018 — As part of the agreement between JSC Halyk Bank (the Bank) and JSC Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund (the Fund) concluded in August of the current year, the Bank has raised a target loan from the Fund in the amount of 800 million tenge.

The borrowings were provided on the terms of the by-product “Nur-Capital” and are intended to finance small and medium-sized private enterprises that are registered and implement their projects in the territory of Mangystau Oblast (except Aktau).

To date, the Bank has approved financing of the project for purchase of public transport (bus) in the amount of 21.08 million tenge. In addition, the Bank considers applications for project lending of seven more entrepreneurs of the region and a further increase in demand for loans under the program is expected. To cover the needs of the regional business in financing, the Bank requested additional borrowing from the Fund in the amount of 200 million tenge.

Under the terms of the program, loans to SMEs are provided in tenge, at the rate of not more than 8.5% per annum. At the same time, the interest rate can be subsidized, thanks to which the entrepreneur will be able to repay the loan at the preferential rate of 1% per annum, and the difference between the nominal and actual loan rate will be offset at the expense of JSC NC “Social-Entrepreneurial Corporation Caspiy”.

The maximum loan term is 84 months — for the implementation of investment projects and 36 months — for loans to finance working capital. The maximum loan amount is 30 million tenge per borrower, while, according to the terms of the program, the borrower must use at least 70% of the loan amount for investment purposes.
