Halyk SuperApp has been recognized as the best mobile banking app in Kazakhstan by Global Brands Magazine
Taking out a loan or opening a deposit - these were two things for which you previously had to visit a branch. A ticket, a queue, half a day. Today, 94% of loans and 94% of new deposits at Halyk are opened in the app. Physical customer service outlets have ceased to be places where people go to get money or bring it in.
For comparison: according to McKinsey, which tracked 80 of the world's largest banks, and Bain, based on 50 European retail banks, leaders hold approximately 73%, the share of sales through digital channels for digital leaders has reached 70%; Figures around 94% are typically found in banks that had no branches to begin with. Halyk has more branches than any other bank in the country - meaning this is not about a lack of choice, but about the customer's choice in favor of convenience and technology.
Here is how it looks in everyday life. An application for a car loan – the decision arrives in a minute. A deposit can be opened at one in the morning. Kindergarten payment sets a reminder for the next month automatically, so you no longer need to keep the date in mind. At the end of the month, the app shows where the money went: 800 thousand tenge, of which a quarter went to trips, a fifth to groceries, and another eighteen percent to cafes.
Next is what people used to keep five different apps on their phones for. A bus ticket from Almaty to Astana, with seat selection. A movie ticket—you just show the QR code at the entrance. Pharmacies, groceries, utilities, fines, transport—more than 10,000 types of payments.
Public services are a story of their own. Public services. There are more than seventy of them in Halyk SuperApp: digital documents, certificates, benefits, and medical services. This is part of the government's overall goal to move public services to the smartphone. Documents were specifically integrated into banking apps for a simple reason: people open their banking app every day. In the app Halyk it doesn't just collect everything indiscriminately, but rather the services that are requested most often.
“We work hard on the app's design and usability so that our customers can do everything essential in one click. We constantly monitor and improve the performance speed of Halyk SuperApp and the availability of the bank's and ecosystem's services. To achieve this, we collect and analyze thousands of different metrics and parameters. Transaction speed and service availability—all these indicators are important KPIs for IT employees. On the scale of Halyk, these can only be achieved using the most complex technological solutions and innovative architectures. I am very pleased that our work was highly valued by such respected experts” - said Mikhail Khasin, Deputy CEO of Halyk Bank”.
In July 2026, the Halyk SuperApp was recognized as the best mobile banking app in Kazakhstan by Global Brands Magazine. The British publication has been hosting these industry awards for thirteen years. Applications were evaluated by an independent research group - which looked at the novelty of solutions, quality, customer service, and overall results.
