A new payment method: Interbank QR in Halyk from 19 July
On 19 July, Halyk will complete the transition from the adaptation model to the target model, becoming one of the first participants to support the project of the National Bank back in 2025. QR-payments will operate on the basis of the National Payment Corporation, and the terms for businesses will remain favorable.
Prior to the project launch, Halyk, together with the NPC and other second-tier banks, carried out extensive functional and load testing of the system. The results confirmed that the interbank infrastructure for QR payments operates stably, reliably and is ready for full-scale operation.
High competition and higher service quality
For consumers, everyday purchases across the country will become even more convenient. After the mobile app update, it will be possible to pay for purchases via QR code through any bank’s app without any extra steps at any of the bank's more than 180 thousand POS terminals.
Undoubtedly, the main beneficiaries of the growing competition between banks will be the customers. For 8.5 million Halyk Super App users, this means more choices, higher quality service, and more advantageous loyalty programs.
Special offer for customers
Scan the QR code via Halyk SuperApp when paying at other banks' POS terminals and receive 1% bonus. The offer is available to Halyk + participants and is valid until 31 August 2026, inclusive.
Lower expenses, more opportunities
The unified QR service for businesses will be available automatically 19 July under the existing acquiring agreement. Interbank payments will help entrepreneurs expand their customer base, while loyalty programs, installments, and other services to attract customers and increase sales can be developed based on the interbank QR.
In addition, the unified system will allow for cost reduction: there will be no need to purchase additional terminals or pay for the maintenance of each one.
These changes will benefit most entrepreneurs, given that 350 thousand legal entities already use the Halyk mobile app. Information on current tariffs is available at the link.
